Tuesday Night Watercolor Class On Zoom

Tuesday Night Watercolor — on Zoom
Alisha is teaching live, painting along with you, giving tips, answering questions — all the same good stuff — just from our own cozy corners of the world.

And yes — I’ll be recording the classes, so if you can’t make it live, you can paint later in your pajamas with a cup of tea and zero pressure. Highly recommend.

Because it’s online (and I don’t have to scrub my baseboards or print a million photos ), I’ve also lowered the price for February.

A few important and very happy notes:
Your registration covers everyone in your household. Partner, kiddo, roommate, visiting friend — if they want to paint too, they are absolutely welcome.

Come live if you can, watch the replay if you can’t, or do a mix of both.
When: Tuesday’s 7-8:30pm EST (8:30pm is a very loose end time. Sometimes class is 1.5 hours sometimes it’s 2 hours depending on the painting)
February 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th

Will I go back to in-person in March? Maybe. Probably. I love being together in the same room.

But with the weather being so unpredictable, and a lot of folks asking for recordings, this felt like a good moment to try something new and see how it feels.

Mostly, I just really want to keep painting with you.

If a cozy, creative Tuesday night at home sounds like exactly what you need right now, I’d love to have you join us.
Register No Later than February 2nd 5pm to ensure you receive your zoom link in time for class.

Cultivating Creativity: A Winter/Spring Artist’s Way Journey

Creativity is more than making art — it’s how we listen to ourselves when life is changing. It’s how we process grief, burnout, big questions, and the quiet sense that something new is trying to emerge.

This 13-week guided Artist’s Way journey is for anyone in a season of transition who wants to reconnect with their inner voice, their creativity, and a deeper sense of self — whether or not they consider themselves “creative.”

If you’re craving grounding, clarity, and a gentle way back to yourself, this may be the right next step.

Visit me at ArtQuest at Greenhill Residency day 6

Artist’s Statement

For the last 15+ years, I’ve started nearly every day with a pen and paper, practicing what Julia Cameron—author of The Artist’s Way—calls Morning Pages: three pages of longhand, stream-of-consciousness writing done first thing each morning. This ritual has been my daily refuge, a place to explore my feelings, sort through what I believe, dream, grieve, and desire. It’s where I’ve worked out what I think, and who I am.

But in recent years, the pages began to feel stale. No prompts, oracle cards, or new pens could revive the spark. Instead, I found myself pulled more and more toward paint—first watercolor, then acrylic, and now abstract mixed media on both paper and canvas. The words had taken me as far as they could. The next chapter needed to be written in color, texture, and shape.

Where the Ink Ran Out is a continuation of that inner dialogue—just without the sentences. During this 10-day residency, I’ll begin each day the way I always have: with morning pages. But this time, I’ll also pay attention to what can’t be said on the page. What feelings resist language? What ideas stretch beyond the edge of the paper?

Using those questions as my compass, I’ll translate the unsayable into 8–10 original works of abstract mixed media—each one a visual meditation, a painted page, an emotional map. This residency is not just about making art; it’s about listening to the silence after the ink runs dry—and discovering what speaks there.

As always, Alisha has a knack for nurturing the artist in every person. Her encouragement makes it easy to do the hardest thing --make that first mark on the daunting blank page. She doesn't over teach, but leaves space for students to explore and problem solve. She also has the knowledge and experience to answer how-tos and instruct everyone in the tricks of the trade that improve and enhance our works. Everyone leaves feeling more capable than when they arrived.” -Lacey Grim

Join Alisha on Zoom for 4 watercolor classes

When: 4 Thursdays 7-8:30 pm EST
July 11th, 18th, 25th, & August 1st

Alisha will provide the instructions and the reference photos. Over 4 weeks we’ll paint an object, an insect/animal, a botanical, and a landscape.

You’ll bring:
Here's a list of the supplies you’ll need to have ready for class:

Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper 9x12

Watercolor Brush Round 6, Optional a round 2 and a round 12

Watercolor Paints: This is my favorite travel set
Carbon paper for tracing
I use a Butcher Tray for my paint palette but a white plate would also work just fine.
These are not required but you may find over time you want them for outlining: Micron Pens
A note on supplies: These are my favorites.  You might have the desire to try to find cheaper paper than the arches listed below, don’t do that.  In Watercolor, you can buy cheap paint and cheap paintbrushes but paper quality matters.  You can take a very talented watercolor artist and have them paint on cheap paper and it will look like it was painted by a toddler, don’t skimp on the paper.

After you register you’ll receive an email from Alisha within 24-48 hours with a supply list and Zoom link. Be sure to add awielfaert@yokeandabundance.com to your contact list

Expressive Wisdom Workshop

Overcome fears and doubts, and connect to your inner wisdom in a daylong intimate painting retreat with Alisha.

Does the idea of painting on a big canvas simultaneously excite you and terrify you at the same time?

Through the act of painting, you are forced to confront various fears that represent fears and blocks that keep us out of action or staying stuck in our everyday life, such as:

  1. Fear of the blank page: The initial intimidation of facing an empty canvas and not knowing where to begin. Where in life are perfectionism and fear of failure holding you back?

  2. Fear of wasting paint: Concerns about using materials inefficiently or not achieving the desired outcome. Where in your life do you operate from a place of lack?

  3. Fear of painting over something you like: Hesitation to make important changes or corrections to the artwork, even if it may improve the overall piece. Where in your life do you experience a lack of faith and trust in yourself?

  4. Fear of judgment: Worries about how others will perceive the finished artwork and the fear of criticism or rejection. How often does the feeling of unworthiness, and imposter complex show up for you? Do you ever find yourself asking the question, "just who do you think you are"?

  5. Fear of getting messy or letting your painting look messy: Afraid of embracing the messiness of the creative process, fearing that imperfections in the artwork might reflect inadequacy or lack of skill. Needing to look good at all costs in your daily life leads you not to get outside of your comfort zone, make changes, or take necessary risks.

  6. Imposter Complex: Doubts about your abilities and feelings of not belonging in the realm of painters. Where in life do you believe you don’t fit in, where do you live in fear that "they" are going to find you out?

By overcoming these fears through the process of painting, you not only create tangible expressions of your intentions but also develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of ownership over your creative journey. Painting becomes a transformative practice that empowers you to embrace your creativity, confront your fears, and assert your presence in the world.

Imagine This…

10 AM: You arrive at my home and grab a cup of tea or coffee, open your goodie bag and we settle in for journaling, and a mini-coaching session.

11 AM: Discussion on what creating is to each of us, is it a conversation with the divine, your wisest self, and spirit if so how do you access that channel when you create?

11:30 AM: Palette color choices and discussion about what makes a good composition, colors selection, and dance party to bring out the right energy for painting

Noon: A walk to talk through the feelings of what’s coming up in the first part of the session

12:30 PM: Second Layer

12:45 PM: Leisurely Nourishing Lunch

1:45 PM: Third Layer and conversation about getting messy and what happens when we “don’t want to mess it up” and perfectionism

3:30 PM: Fourth Layer

3:45 PM Gentle Yoga

4:15 PM Finishing touches on painting

4:45-5:45 PM Insights and takeaways discussion over cocktails/mocktails and appetizers followed by farewells
